COD, and I’m not Talking About the Fish

The new COD is a fun way to play the classic console game on the go.

The new Call of Duty Mobile left me hooked. Like many of you I have a plethora of games on my phone any type of games from sports to simulation. Lately I have been obsessed with the new Call of Duty Mobile.

I grew up playing Call of Duty on my Xbox 360 and my Xbox One, and I was looking for that type of console experience on my phone. Then on October 1, 2019 I was finally able to download what I hoped to be that. I remember getting the notification that morning and I immediately downloaded and started to play. I have always been a big fan of the Call of Duty series, this sounds dark but it isn’t I promise, but I tend to like things that involve any type of war or shooting in it.

The multiplayer part of the game offers the same experience that players are used to on consoles. The usual Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, Domination, and Frontline. They’ve been shortened down so you don’t have to spend 10 minutes in each match. For example, in team deathmatch, the score limit is only 40. This means that matches can end in as quickly as 4 minutes, which is perfect for a Call of Duty game on the go. I personally love the 40 kill limit because it gets very intense in close matches when you are trying to get that last kill.

You can “create-a-class” in which you have primary and secondary weapons, lethal and tactical grenades, perks, and attachments. TiMi Studios and Activision went to all ends to cover content in the game. In addition to “create-a-class” the game includes 9 maps, and they are all from previous Call of Duty games: 3 from Modern Warfare, 2 from Black Ops, and 4 from Black Ops 2. For its launch, it’s a very good game and Activision is planning on updating the game to add more and more to the game. I think that the multiplayer aspect of the game is great as it always is with a Call of Duty game. There is also a Battle Royale mode, but I have yet to play that part of the game. I think that the graphics are stunning and the game runs very smooth.

Overall the experience is great, even though your hands get hot from your phone because you play too much. Another side note, it is interesting to shoot as the virtual joystick and the shooting buttons are so close, it took some getting used to. Activision really smashed it out of the ballpark with this one, and I hope to see many updates to the game to make it even better than it already is.
