Risk of Rain, well they say its a risk but its way more like a downpour. The game starts with you descending from the sky presumably in an escape pod, though if whatever is up there is scary enough to make you land on this accursed planet I don’t want to know what it is. After crawling from your escape pod like the accursed gun toting gremlin you are you will see a box with a number with signifies how much money you need to open it, to get the money you simply shoot enemies after enough have been dispatched you open the box and the contents are yours. In Risk of rain you never switch your gun you just upgrade your character with items such as a ukule

le which shoots lightning….  Yeah i stopped asking questions about this point. After wandering the level for a bit eventually you find a teleporter which will send you to the next level with one tiny itty bitty catch Bosses. Bosses are just… something else they can kill you in one hit constantly spawn more enemies AND they lock down all unopened loot and the teleporter meaning you have what you picked up to kill them. Oh yeah, did I mention the difficulty is constantly increasing so you can’t just loiter in one level, no you gotta go fast really fast speed is key to victory.

  After a few decades worth of levels you unlock a new character and far more likely you die! And have a fantastic ragdoll when you do it. Don’t worry about characters you find them as you go, and every single one is better than your starting character. My favorite is the Mercenary, how a character who QUITE LITERALLY brought a sword to a gunfight does so well is beyond me but it works

so I guess it doesn’t matter. Until you get one shot,as I said the games difficulty constantly rises and the higher it gets the faster you die, eventually the difficulty transcends our fragile reality and just starts laughing at you. Legit it just keeps laughing and laughing and laughing  at you until you die and then you start again. I probably should have mentioned this earlier but an average GOOD run lasts an hour or more so don’t play this unless you have time to burn, A LOT of time to burn. After the steep learning curve the game is a lot of fun as long as you have the time to finish your match.
